EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This Deliverable is a report providing a user-level overview of the software modules selected and developed in WP6 titled “Implement rapid virtual design and production process prototyping generators” of the SHIPLYS project.
Based on the requirements identified in WP3 “Specify requirements for integration of rapid virtual prototyping and life cycle tool”, several software modules (called SHIPLYS Applications) were developed with the purpose of them being used in an integrated manner through the SHIPLYS platform.
This report provides an overview of such Applications with focus on Applications developed within the project. However, in the interest of showing how an activity can be completed, other Applications (pre-existing, off-the-shelf available) are also mentioned. An activity, mentioned as ‘Activity’ in the text of this document, in the current context is a task that is typically carried out during the very early design or production planning stage of ship new-build or retrofitting projects.
